Junior Year AP Concentration
This was a series of artworks that I completed for my AP 2D Design Class junior year of high school. I was ultimately graded with a 4 for this body of work. It centered around a town located in Northern Alaska named EastHaven. Which was essentially a sanctuary filled to the brim with tons of different supernatural creatures and weird stories.

This concentration served as an introduction to the story as if it was a TV show.

The work to the right is the beginning of the series, depicting the main character, Val's move into town.
Another important part of the concentration was the focus on atmosphere, lighting, and tone. I was heavily inspired by the works of Gregory Crewdson as well as internet legends such as the Backrooms.

I used these techniques to create environments that were seemingly normal, but for one reason or another, felt "off" or ominous.

You can see this really clearly in this piece which continues Val's story as he moves to EastHaven. Val and his mother stumble upon a 24-hour diner in the late hours of the night.
